The Live The game WAY
Program Philosophy
LTG believes in there being three main benefits to players attending programs or activities in sport.
Experience: The players have a memorable experience because of the environment they are in- a player-centric, fun, learning environment led by enthusiastic staff.
Development: The players are encouraged to focus and work hard, which in turn aids their development- making the sport “easier” and more fun to play!
Competition: The players are able to put their natural instinct for competitiveness into the sport, which allows them to enjoy the thrill and rewards of success and failure- turning every moment into a learning moment!
player development Philosophy
LTG is on a constant quest to build COMPLETE players by making them Comfortable, Confident, and Competitive- characteristics that will lead them to success on the field and in life.
Comfortable: Create an environment where players can get comfortable to work hard and enjoy themselves, which will allow them to train more and become a better player.
Confident: Get player comfortable, so they get better on the ball. When they are better on the ball, help them make better decisions through guided learning- building their confidence.
Competitive: Once they are comfortable and confident, push players to showcase their ability. Showcasing that they are the best, pushes them to get even better!
STAFF Philosophy
LTG believes that our staff play three main roles on the field with players!
Teachers: The ability to help players understand what is being taught through adapting to their needs based on the way they learn and retain information the best.
Mentors: The ability to explain and define the ways that what is being taught can aid them in their quest of development and growth.
Coaches: The ability to bring everything together in key moments to lead players and teams, while motivating them to push harder and prosper.
Curriculum
The curriculum at LTG uses a holistic approach to develop players’ ability and passion for the game. Through building complete, well-rounded players, we allow for many great parts to lead to a greater whole. Developing players technically, tactically, physically, and mentally/emotionally, allows us create competitive teams.
Technically Sound: The ability to manipulate the ball in different ways to help solve problems on the field, in games.
Tactically Confident: The ability to read the game and understand where problems are, and where they might arise, and know how to solve them in key, high-intensity moments.
Physically Able: The ability to keep with other players based solely on aspects of athleticism.
Mental/Emotional Resilience: The ability for players to be their own biggest critic, and supporter, to aid their development on the highs and lows of the journey that is sport.
Training Session breakdown
Training sessions are altered based on the ability, duration, and other variables. Typically, a training session contains four main parts:
Warm-Up / Activation: Dynamic movements to get the blood flowing and players ready to play.
Technical / Ball Mastery: Touches! Touches! Touches! Limit the amount of players per ball so they are able to get as much time as possible on the ball.
Tactical / Possession: Allow players to get into scenarios where they need to rely on their technical ability and tactical understanding of the game to solve problems.
Game-Like Activity: Players are placed in game-like scenarios where they can solve problems with their teammates towards the goals of collective success.
